[Didn't know where else to post this...] BOINC's exclusive app list is a good way to allow programs priority over BOINC tasks, but when the exclusive program quits, BOINC tasks immediately run again. A user-adjustable delay would be helpful to delay starting the tasks again even after the exclusive app has stopped. |

As far as I know, it takes up to 30 seconds before science applications start running again after coming out of exclusive_app modus. If you want more than that, probably best pause BOINC. There was this request to add a user settable (re)start_delay on exclusive applications, but the developers feel this overcomplicates BOINC and its preferences. |

So, pound sand. Problem fixed by uninstalling BOINC. |

Just use the after boot delay? No, that one doesn't work on exclusive applications. And when --whatshisname, a German, I forget-- asked about that about a year orso back, that was too complicated to add. Or some such. |

So, pound sand. Wow, rage much? What's the big deal? All those few minutes are gonna do is give your computer a sort of cooldown, which won't matter because BOINC will just heat it up again. |
