We've been on version 7.2.42 for quite some time, and there has been a litany of issues. It still does not work properly for me in screen saver mode and I am using a year-old version of the software. So is there any ETA on a replacement?

Don't know where you're getting your information about the age of the software from, the release date for BOINC 7.2.42 is 28 Feb 2014.
