Hello, I've just changed the version of my Mac OS X system (from 10.5 Leopard to 10.6 Snow Leopard). Then Boinc refused to work ("please reinstall it"). So I 've reinstalled Boinc with the last version (7.0.65). (I used previously 6.12.X). The installer ask me : "Do you want authorize managing Boinc for non admin users ?" I'm the only admin users of my mac, but it has other users (non admin) and I want to be the unique admin. So I answered "No". Then, after the installation, impossible to launch Boinc-manager ! I have this message : ![]() "You are not autorised to..." "Please reinstall answering Yes..." "or contact your admin : he must add this account to the groupe boinc_master" I am my admin. So I did that : added my account to boinc_master. New message : ![]() (error code 6961580) So I tried the other alternative : reinstal Boing answering Yes to the previous question. New message : ![]() (error code 6999804) Nothing to do ?... And why the installer didn't autorise me directly, as I am the only admin (except root) ?... ... and I eventually find out that it has given the groups boinc_master and boinc_project to an OTHER account NON ADMIN !... I've changed that : now I'm the only member of these two groups and... it WORKS :-) JiPaul. JiPaul B. |

Hello JiPaul, Please run the following commands in the Terminal application (at /Applications/Utilities/Terminal or the French equivalent):
dscl . read /groups/boinc_master GroupMembership dscl . read /groups/boinc_project GroupMembership Then copy the results into a private message and send it to me. In the private message, please also tell me the name of the non-admin user which the BOINC installer incorrectly added to group boinc_master, and also the name of the admin user which you wanted BOINC to authorize.
