I am currently writing a white paper trying to get BOINC installed across a portion of my organization's laptops/workstations. Roughly 500-1000 laptops/workstations. I would like some advice on how this could be managed. I know BOINC requires Admin Rights to install, so it would be installed by the I.T. support department. How do you think BOINC could be managed and controlled across a company? It could be installed and then configured to use GridRepublic or BoincStats(BAM), using one master ID and password for every install so the I.T. Manager could control/manage which projects were allowed. Is there a way to manage BOINC across many computers without the use of a 3rd party website? Any idea's or existing examples of successful organizational management would be greatly appreciated. |
