an evaporative cooler will be effective...let it's output leave the room.

I used a portable one down in Arizona where I winter, and yes the humidity would skyrocket when I turned it on.
That's what happens if you don't have somewhere for the cooled air to exit.

Split or window mounted air conditioner- room needs to be closed up.
Evaporative cooler- room needs two openings, one for the cooler to draw air in too cool and, the other to allow that cooled air to exit.

We still need the site for our collaboration with the folks at FAST
As I didn't know what this meant, I threw it into Google and Gemini came up with the next bit:

UC Berkeley's SETI team collaborates with China's Five-hundred-meter Aperture Spherical Telescope (FAST) primarily by using the massive dish to re-observe and investigate the most promising candidate signals originally flagged by the public SETI@home project.

The collaboration and partnership efforts involve several key components:

Evaluating the 100 Signals: Berkeley SETI researchers winnowed over a decade of crowd-sourced data down to 100 "candidate" narrowband signals. Because of FAST’s unprecedented sensitivity as Earth’s largest single-dish radio observatory, it is being actively utilized to re-point at these targets to verify if they are legitimate extraterrestrial technosignatures or just Earth-based radio interference.

SERENDIP and Nebula: The Berkeley SETI team's algorithmic system, Nebula, is used to analyze data collected directly from FAST's ongoing SETI sky surveys.

Memorandum of Understanding: The collaboration expanded significantly after the Berkeley-led Breakthrough Listen initiative (a major $100 million SETI program) signed a cooperation agreement with the National Astronomical Observatories of the Chinese Academy of Sciences to coordinate SETI observations and data sharing.
