For those that don't know what a Rasberry Pi is, its basically a small (credit card sized) computer based around an ARM processor. They run Linux. The emphasis is on being cheap and they cost about $35. They were originally aimed at the UK educational market but are being used for all sorts of other things now. You can find out more about them here It seems there are now two ports of BOINC on the Rasberry Pi. Carl from QCN had a version without the manager and Ray GTI-R over at Asteroids has 7.0.24 running with the manager. QCN were going to do an app, and Asteroids have promised to look into compiling an app. MarkJ |

I got my Pi this week. After updating it, it managed to bring down BOINC 7.0.27 from the repo. BOINC will run on it quite happily, however it doesn't have a lot of free memory (about 70mb), so getting apps running on it might prove difficult. When I get some free time I will see if I can grab the source to SETI Multibeam and compile it. The Pi come preloaded with GCC 4.6. MarkJ |
