I just installed BOINC today to run SETI, but it turns out if I don't manually shut it down as soon as it automatically starts up, my computer just... turns off. No error message, no warning, just off. I tried just shutting down the Manager and letting SETI keep going, but it turned off again anyway. I'm running 32-bit Windows Vista Home Premium with DirectX 10 on an NVIDIA motherboard with an Intel Core 2 Duo processor and an NVIDIA 8800GTX graphics card. Any thoughts? |

Heat maybe? Did you clean out your CPU's heat sink and fan any time lately? Seti will put your CPU under quite a bit of load, so any heat related problems may shut your PC down. Anything showing in Event Viewer? |
