I have several PCs running BOINC projects, most of them are running Windows XP Pro in 32-bit. But I also have two machines running Vista 64-bit. 3 of my XP machines are capable of 64-bit operating systems. Is there any benefit to changing these over to 64 vs 32-bit? ![]() ![]() |

Off topic: The syntax for your user signature image is: [img]http://www.boincstats.com/signature/user_172193.gif[/img] For the team signature likewise. Gruß, Gundolf Computer sind nicht alles im Leben. (Kleiner Scherz) ![]() |

Thanks to both of you. It's not that big of a deal anyway, as I try to match the operating system with each computers hardware. Just because a machine is 64-bit capable, doesn't mean that it will be as effective, especailly if it only runs 32-bit programs. If there were some substantial difference than I'd seriously consider it, but as for now I'll just leave XP with SP3 running on the older boxes. Thanks Gundolf for the sig fix! Grunt ![]() ![]() |
