I have a brand new duel core laptop running Windows Vista Home Premium and Boinc 5.8.16. When I log off, or shut down my laptop, my work units fail with Computational Error. My only option seems to be to always hibernate my laptop. Is this a know bug? Is there an increase in the number of failed work units? |

It's the too fast shut down. I've only been bitten by it once when a program wanted to reboot and the window to say ok stole focus from what I was typing. Hit the space bar... poof! A reboot. One way around is the registry hack. The other way is to always completely shut down BOINC before shut down/reboot (file - exit for single/shared install, stop the service for a service install). ... Sounds useful, have you got a link to the relevant page, and do you think it'd be OK if we (CPDN mods) stole the list to put into our documentation? |
