Windows11, Boinc Manager 8.2.8

In my BoincManager, Advanced View, Projects tab the option to "Remove" is not available (grayed out) for World Community Grid. It's available for every other project.

I've tried to remove the project via BOINCCMD (which is relatively new to me) but get "Error -1". I think I have the right URL - it works OK for "nomorework" and "allowmorework" options on the "--project" parameter. I'm running boinccmd in a cmd window with admin priv.

C:\Program Files\BOINC>boinccmd --project https://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/ nomorework [worked OK]

C:\Program Files\BOINC>boinccmd --project https://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/ allowmorework [worked OK]

C:\Program Files\BOINC>boinccmd --project https://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/ detach
Operation failed: Error -1

Can someone point me to a list of BOINCCMD error codes? I've rummaged for a list of error codes but came up empty on "-1".

If the Remove option is greyed out, it ususally means that you have attached through a account manager, such as BAM or some other account manager. You must detach from the project from the account manager you attached it through.

Interesting. I've never installed any project "through" BAM that I'm aware of. I've installed projects through BOINC while "BoincStatsBAM!" was attached - is that the same thing? I've also similarly installed other projects and their "Remove" option is not greyed out. The only management tool I've ever used is BOINC Manager and very recently boinccmd. If BAM is a separate app, it is not installed on my computer.

Thanks.

BoincStats BAM is the account manager, and you probably attached WCG through that. That's why it's greyed out in BOINC manager. The only real reason why it should be greyed out, is that you haven't attached WCG through the BOINC manager.

To be clear, you're saying by just having BoincStatsBam! attached when installing a project through BOINC means the project was attached through that manager?

BoincStatsBam! is still attached. How do I remove a project if not through BOINC? Where is the BoincStatsBAM! interface/options for removing a project? I see none.

What if I choose "Stop Using BoincStatsBam!" (the only option I see).

I'm obviously missing something here.

How you do it, is a question I can't answer. I have never used any account manager at all, and the day will never come when I will. You have to wait for someone else who knows how to detach WCG from BAM.

OK - I found the website, which I've been using forever but just for the Stats. I've never managed any Boinc projects through BAM. Even on the BAM website I have no option for removing/detaching World Community Grid since I never installed it through BAM.

I've removed BAM from my BOINC Manager and now I have the "Remove" option for WGC. Why it was greyed out since I never used BAM is just strange.

Thanks for clueing me in about the manager.
