New News update from the Admin of the Rosetta project has been posted. Interesting reading their main line computations can be processed by AI and AI tools, but they have specialty research tasks that AI and the available tools can't handle. They have announced that the Project will continue to use the BOINC processing power for this specialized work. They have had small batches daily for the last 10 days .... Tasks are luck of the draw as there area a lot of Volunteers and Clients attached. In reply to Bill Freauff's message of 11 Mar 2026: New News update from the Admin of the Rosetta project has been posted??? That was on the 4th March, 2025 Work supply has been sporadic since before even then. Combined with the sever issues that have never been addressed, getting work isn't just about the luck of the draw, but making sure you've edited your hosts file appropriately if you use IPv6- otherwise there's no chance of getting any work. Rosetta is not worth attaching to. I'm an old cruncher from the very early days. AI took over our brute force crunching a few years ago. Since then the number of people attaching to the project has kept increasing while the amount of work decreases. Im guessing it must be like a 8 systems fighting for 1 task these days. I came back a few times got a bit of work and then it went dry and stayed dry. I don't bother anymore. |

Well total users for Roseta is listed at over 1.3 Million ... Considered "Active" the number is less than 4,000 who have gotten credit on the 60 Days. So the Active users are Less than 0.25% I managed to snag a few tasks on two systems ... Lucky me. Bill F |
