Hi everyone

I am using the BOINC Manager to monitor the client on a server. Every time when starting up the Manager or it disconnects, I have to manually connect to the server and reenter the RPC password. Is there a way to set a default client that connects on startup? The default is localhost and I guess the password is read from disk (gui_rpc_auth.cfg). Can I change localhost to my server's hostname somewhere? There must be a way, right?

I am using BOINC Manager 8.2.8 on macOS 15 with Intel processor. Any insight on this is much appreciated.

Thank you for your help and happy crunching :)

Cheers, Sam

Start Boinc mgr with —namehost=%&%&%& —password=%&%&

Personally, I prefer to do it manually rather than have the password in plaintext in a batch file.

I use BOINC Tasks to monitor remote hosts.
