(Waves hello) folks, I have been using BOINC for well…. Over 20 yrs it seems…. Finally created a user ID to share this oddity that has me stumped. Here are pictures of the desktop taken by this iPhone & posted via Firefox on the same iPhone. Regarding task status “ready to report†since 10/8/25 and it will clearly show in the first pic that it is in “communication deferred for another 12+ hours. I have not figured out how to undo this, or manually override it, or figure out another way to send them…. This only relates to just this project it seems: Einstein@Home The computer is: iMac IOS High Sierra Version 10.13.6 RAM 8GB Plenty of HDD space The “img*†button has no real help for me these days! /twohanded facepalm “Looking all over this web page I can not for the life of Brian figure out how to cut n paste or upload the screenshots to this message folks. Sorry…. Suffice it to say that hi have ~ 35 X 4 files that are “ready to reportâ€! Please,… please advise how to: 1st upload the current pictures 2nd advice on what (if any) relevant information y’all need me to create screenshots of that as well for eventual uploading to here, please.[/img] 42! Exit BOINC, give it 20 seconds or so, then restart it. After it's re-started, give it 30 seconds or so. Have they been reported? If not, in the manager, select View, Advanced view, then Tools, Event log. Click on Copy all, and post the log here. Grant Darwin NT. ID: 117687 · |

Which version of BOINC are you using? Is it possible that BOINC/Your Computer has expired web certificates? https://boinc.berkeley.edu/dl/

The way that I would include a screenshot is (not knowing of a way to directly upload/embed): 1. Upload it to a site like Photobucket 2. Find what that site uses as a sharable link to that specific image 3. Use [ img ]image link[ /img] for the BOINC board to pull the img from the other site (without the spaces in the brackets) https://boinc.berkeley.edu/dl/

I have tried this "turn off & wait to turn back on" several times over last 2 months. i have also tried the turn off and then restart the computer well over a dozen times. i have also done a true "cold reboot" of this imac at least 5 times over last 2 months thanks to T-storms & loss of our DSL service. will try to go in & cut n paste you asked for next.... 42! The BOINC client version 8.2.8 MAC OSX universal browser web certificates are still currently "on point" & this old iMAC has never actually lost the date/time stamp... ...unlike any of my PC's with microcrap on them..... butidigress however i'd be very willing to figure out how to look for them actively later today when i return from running errands.... i have not been able to get the "Docker" installed yet... not sure why it failed last couple attempts. will try again this afternoon/evening when i check back in here. 42! You said the issue was with Einstein, this log is for Rosetta. And as Dr Who Fan posted, there are too many issues with the Rosetta project to cover them all, but IPV6 being broken is one of them, which makes contacting the Schedler impossible without using the Hosts file work around (or just disabling IPV6). Contacting the projects via their forum is often the first thing to do as here on the BOINC forum we don't know the details of every project's workings. That aside the fact you can't connect, using Firefox, to the project's website gives a clue as to what is wrong. First check the URLs you are using (I've posted the Rosetta@Home URLs as that project appears to be the one giving you the majority of your problems) For the Q&A section: https://boinc.bakerlab.org/rosetta/forum_help_desk.php and for the rest of their forum: https://boinc.bakerlab.org/rosetta/forum_index.php (deliberately not given as links so you can more easily check the spelling of the URLs you are trying to use). If the links are OK then I'd be looking at firewall and anti-virus configurations as both are known to give problems. Ensure the firewall allows the two-way communication with boinc.bakerlab.org, and likewise that you anti-virus software doesn't block, trash or quarantine the same communications. (BTW, I also use Firefox and have just used the two links above to have a look at the Rosetta@Home forums) ID: 117721 · |

Exit BOINC, give it 20 seconds or so, then restart it.And no mention at all of rebooting the system. c) didn't realize that it only showed the Rosetta stuff..... guess i will tap the mouse over the Einstein project and then the rosetta file to see if the "log" is different???? If you update a particular Project, then that will result in BOINC contacting that projects servers. Or you do as i suggested (which you eventually did), and exit BOINC and restart it, wait a while, then post the log. d) admittedly i have not done anything with IPV6 with stuff here in our house.... i have honestly keep everything in IPv4 format given that i have several legacy items on the cat5e intranet inside this house. so i guess i will scrounge through this iMAC to see if its automatically set to IPV6... i do not recall what its setting is currently.It has nothing to do with you home network, but your ISP and if they support IPV6 or not. Looking at you network settings for you Internet connection will show if IPV6 is being used or not (and i have no idea where they would be on an Apple system). okay.... gonna log off and do a full cold rebootWhy would you do that???
