When I start BOINC client for the first time after a system reboot, docker is not detected correctly and BOINC-docker tasks are crashing directly after the start with: <core_client_version>8.2.8</core_client_version> <![CDATA[ <message> Onjuiste functie. (0x1) - exit code 1 (0x1)</message> <stderr_txt> no job.toml config file wsl_init(): no usable WSL distro wsl_init() failed: -1 2025-12-04 11:19:20 (5592): called boinc_finish(1) In the client event log this is displayed: 04 Dec 11:11:03 Docker detection in Ubuntu: 04 Dec 11:11:03 - cmd: podman --version 04 Dec 11:11:03 - output: time="2025-12-04T11:11:03+01:00" level=error msg="XDG_RUNTIME_DIR directory \"/run/user/1000\" is not owned by the current user" 04 Dec 11:11:04 Docker detection in Ubuntu: 04 Dec 11:11:04 - cmd: docker --version 04 Dec 11:11:04 - output: /bin/bash: line 1: docker: command not found After a stop of BOINC-client and a restart, docker is detected correctly: 06 Dec 11:26:24 Usable WSL distros: 06 Dec 11:26:24 - Ubuntu (WSL 2) (default) 06 Dec 11:26:24 - OS: Ubuntu (Ubuntu 24.04.3 LTS) 06 Dec 11:26:24 - libc version: 2.39 06 Dec 11:26:24 - Docker version 4.9.3 (podman) |

In reply to Crystal Pellet's message of 6 Dec 2025: When I start BOINC client for the first time after a system reboot,Since I do not start BOINC-client at system boot, but start BoincTasks at system startup and BoincTasks is starting BOINC-client with a 1 second delay, I don't experience those wrong docker detection anymore. |
