Could not log in to Radioactive@home but Google AI said
The BOINC project Radioactive@home has shut down. It appears to have been permanently discontinued following the passing of its lead scientist, Prof. Krzysztof Belczynski. While a server maintenance person continued to handle the servers in their free time, funding has ended, and a successor for the scientific research could not be found.
The project is considered finished.
Funding for the project ended at the end of August.
A new scientific team has not been found to continue the research.
The server maintenance person is keeping the servers running until a successor is found or the servers are officially shut down.
Is google confusing Universe with Radioactive.

Yes. But the same person managed the servers at both Universe and at Radioactive. He isn't active at either project now that the money ran out and the lead scientist passed. Effectively, both projects are finished, though there never has been any official notice posted at Radioactive or elsewhere of that fact compared to the announcment of Universe shutting down.

The server ran out of disc space a few days ago. It appears that db_purge wasn't running for some reason.

The site bounced a couple of times before going offline continuously.

I did post over at the Universe thread (https://universeathome.pl/universe/forum_thread.php?id=730) but I don't know if it's being monitored.

Give it a couple of weeks, it usually takes that long to be resurrected :)

Web site is back up, but most services are not running.

Looks like it was restored from an old backup as there are a few days missing from my tasks list.

At least something is happening :)

In reply to Ka from East Yorkshire's message of 18 Dec 2025:
But what was the whole point of Radioactive@Home in the first place?! For whose benefit?! A citizens-led OSCE/IAEA?!
The point of the project is stated clearly on their front page.

I had to reinstally my Linux I'm seeing this message from R@H any workarounds? It was working fine as an upgrade from older versions so I assume that something was removed in the newer Linux that means BOINC reports that it can not run the "Linux running on an Intel x86-compatible CPU"

Radioactivity Monitor is not available for Linux running on an AMD x86_64 or Intel EM64T CPU.

I fixed it with <alt_platform>i686-pc-linux-gnu</alt_platform> in the cc_config
