I've run into an issue with the couple of different installs on Linux, Mint mainly but think I might have on Garuda Linux as well.
Had been running most on Flatpak/Flathub and all seemed to work great. Saw the "Some projects may need Docker" and that future many project might go that way. So I uninstalled everything both distro boincs, flathub and followed the vague and confusing link path for installing BOINC docker podman or what ever it is, seemed to work fine only nothing in the computing preferences follows what's set.
As in not use GPU or CPU when computer in use, it won't stop unless Suspended in activity, or run when Run always is checked.
I have been using BOINC since the seti@home project, about 2000 or 2001.
And I've seen several people on here with the same issue, is there a fix?
Win11 x64-Asus AMD 2.7GHz-32GB-GT760
Garuda x64-Dell-i5-4.6GHz-32GB-GT1030
Mint 22.1-Xeon-2.6GHz-32GB-GT760

Is the nVidia GeForce GT730 currently not compatible with any GPU tasks.
As I have 3 of them in different Distro's that don't seem to be picking up any GPU tasks, just cpu tasks.
I have one other machine with a GT1030 that gets both GPU & CPU pretty much equally on the same projects.
World Community Grid, SiDock, Rosetta, Climateprediction, Asteroids, Milkyway.

The ouput of GT730:
CUDA: NVIDIA GPU 0: NVIDIA GeForce GT 730 (driver version 470.99, CUDA version 11.4, compute capability 3.5, 1.95GB, 1.95GB available, 692 GFLOPS peak)
OpenCL: NVIDIA GPU 0: NVIDIA GeForce GT 730 (driver version 470.99, device version OpenCL 3.0 CUDA, 1.95GB, 1.95GB available, 692 GFLOPS peak)

The output of GT1030:
CUDA: NVIDIA GPU 0: NVIDIA GeForce GT 1030 (driver version 580.82, CUDA version 13.0, compute capability 6.1, 1.94GB, 1.94GB available, 1127 GFLOPS peak)
OpenCL: NVIDIA GPU 0: NVIDIA GeForce GT 1030 (driver version 580.82.09, device version OpenCL 3.0 CUDA, 1.94GB, 1.94GB available, 1127 GFLOPS peak)
Win11 x64-Asus AMD 2.7GHz-32GB-GT760
Garuda x64-Dell-i5-4.6GHz-32GB-GT1030
Mint 22.1-Xeon-2.6GHz-32GB-GT760

Currently World Community Grid project has been in "maintenance recovery mode" for last 4 weeks.

The last message from someone at the project indicated that maybe the BOINC portion of the project will return some time on this Monday September 29, 2025.

Follow the message topic here on the BOINC message board where us users try to keep everyone updated on what is happening.

Or look through the Most Recent Threads on the WCG forums.

---
Asteroids is currently having problems with a bad intermediary security certificate. Until the project Administrators/University fix it BOINC can't receive or send work. See this topic or one of the other ones on the Asteroids project for the most recent information.

---
SiDock, Rosetta, Climateprediction - NONE of these projects have GPU Applications/work..

---
Milkyway retired the GPU application over 1 year ago.

Here's a fairly complete list of Active BOINC PROJECTS.
Look for the Nvidia logo in the Right hand column for projects that *might* support your very old card.

In relation to WCG, the only sub-project with a GPU application is Open Pandemics - the application is OPNG.

As to running OPNG on your GT730, see
https://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread_thread,45866.

But bear in mind that, in addition to what Dr Who Fan says about WCG maintenance, there has been no OPNG work at WCG for months.

None of those projects have GPU work or are down. Check the project sites, not here.
