This morning, the trickle up messages have stopped going through. zips containing the science data are still being uploaded. Completed tasks not reporting. And here in UK it is a long weekend with Monday being a public holiday. I swear the gremlins know this!

Glenn has rebooted the relevant server and everything seems to be working. (Above and beyond the call of duty on a bank holiday weekend!

Just popped in on Asteroids; its security certificate app expired on the 17th.

CPDN forum has again faced a problem:
Your connection is not private

We are back at this again.

Asteroids on BOINC sill has the intermediate certificate error. Forum/website loads fine with no errors.

I saw some one posted a workaround on their forums involving downloading and updating some certificate files on your computer.

Gerasim is a huge mess!
Overall a total of 37,999,977,848 credit was wiped out on Gerasim for everyone.

For anyone that wants to follow along with the GERASIM f*ck-up here is a link at the NumberFields@home project where there is ANGRY PEOPLE giving SerVal (Gerasim admin) HE77 for running the project mostly on a RAM DISK!

What is the difference between:

http://stats6.free-dc.org/
and
http://stats.free-dc.org/

I also get the certificate error on stats6, but not on regular URL.

stats6.free-dc.org is a test site that Bok used to test new stuff. For some reason WuProp uses this URL for their site which I have asked them to remove it and use the correct stats.free-dc.org link. I took this site offline as I have no use for it and it's just consuming resources on my connection for no reason. Use stats.free-dc.org or the test site freedc.teamanandtech.org.

In reply to Dr Who Fan's message of 14 Aug 2025:
WuProp and FREE-DC stats web sites are down with a CloudFlare 500 http error stating the servers are unreachable.

For as long as I have been hosting free-dc at home it has not gone for any long periods. The CloudFlare 500 error is on CloudFlares side and I have no idea what causes that.

In reply to mmonnin's message of 19 Aug 2025:
Because its a TEST SITE running from home. Remove the link Keith

use the official site at free-dc.org

He is right. The freedc.teamanandtech.org version is a test version where I have been working on updating all the code to work on Php7+ instead of the older php5 it was coded for. This will be the version that gets transferred to the main domain once I get it transferred to a different server hosted in a datacenter. With that being said, feel free to use the freedc.teamanandtech.org version but due note that in the future this will be gone and stats.free-dc.org will be the main site once again.

Right now, the free-dc web server and data base are hosted at my home. Its not reliable. My connection isn't designed for this.
The freedc.teamanandtech.org web server is hosted in a datacenter while the database server for this is still here with me at home as well. freedc.taat also doesn't use cloudflare, so no cloudflare issues should present themselves.

Future plans are to finish making sure freedc.teamandtech.org works fine. To the extent that everything that currently works on stats.free-dc.org works. As I know a lot of stuff on free-dc.org doesn't. These things I am not too concerned about at this moment. They will be addressed once everything is moved to the datacenter.

Once I know freedc.teamanandtech.org works fine. I will begin moving this code to a web server in the datacenter and move the free-dc domain to that server.

Then I will ship off this database server I have here at home to the datacenter and move everything to operate off it.

This will ensure everything related to free-dc.org will be hosted on a reliable datacenter connection.

It just takes time. I do this on my free time when I am not at work. I don't really want to put a date on this, but I am hoping within the next few weeks I will have this done.

With all that said. I am sorry that free-dc doesn't work most of the time. Trust me when I say I am doing what I can to get it fixed.

Thanks for the information and your work on Free-DC, Skillz.
I can imagine it's a lot of work. And now that we are seemingly down to only BoincStats and Free-DC for viewing stats, we should do what we all can to keep them running.
Is the donation page still functioning, I'd be happy to spare a few dollars via paypal, to help with your costs. It looks like the button is leading to "BoincGames" recipient though.

Quite exaggerated from the one doing the all caps at WUProp that made Seb think about quitting.

If the server dies it dies and like any other project the only thing left of a dead project is the record on stats sites. Which can be fixed.

I run BOINCGames.com too and they will be sharing the web server and database server to consolidate costs for me. So the BOINCGames link is correct. It was just easier for me to point donations to something I had already setup than go through the trouble of creating another paypal account for it.

Einstein website seems to be struggling. I get a lot of time outs and this:

Seems to be working for me right now except it's a bit slower than normal loading the forums.

After being out most of the day (and it's currently around 11:30 PM local time) I hit Update for Einstein a couple of times; the first time resulted in a backoff timer of ~3 minute, the second time ~5 minutes. And this was after taking a bit longer than normal for the request to go through. The Front page took longer to load, but the server status page loaded quickly.
