The Climate Prediction servers (CPDN.org) will be taken offline from tomorrow (Tuesday 6 January 2026) at 15:30pm (UTC). This is in order to conduct some essential backend maintenance work. It is expected that this work may take several days to complete. |

SPACIOUS @ home has been having database problems for at least 6 hours now. ERROR MESSAGE: "Can't connect to database". This is after the project went off the charts in awards of 100x the normal credit for some reason. |

Closer to 2 days. Spacious did this already. There is a thread there mentioning it. Just ghost credits. The # of tasks completed doesn't match credit given. It should be Credit = 200n as each task gives 200 credit per task but some people just got millions more. Same thing occurred this week. Same thing happened at Gaia and it was never corrected. The admin has been non-existent at the project https://researchportal.amu.edu.pl/info/author/UAM99495?r=projectmain&tab=publications&sort=5&title=Person%2Bprofile%2B%E2%80%93%2BPrzemys%C5%82aw%2BPawe%C5%82%2BBartczak%2B%E2%80%93%2BAdam%2BMickiewicz%2BUniversity,%2BPozna%C5%84&lang=en&pn=1 |

Spacious now appears to be working OK but credit still high. At 100x I suspect issue with thousands marker between locales and import/export. Paul. |

Its like whatever process is incrementing a users credit is doing it many, many times for each task. If the server/db was just rebooted, it could be back to normal. The db should be restored. |

Hi All, I haven't tested everything, but forums and server status page seem to be in good shape. |

I had the same quick look-around, and it feels very quick and responsive. But that message came from the project admin: as yet, there's no scientific work to be done. That comes from a different department. Going purely on past behaviour, I would expect it to be another few days or even weeks before the apps and data are checked and tested, before being sent out to volunteers. |

It does mean they will get tested by those who are less particular, which has pluses and minuses. Another possibility would be to still use the main site but limit the machines they can go to. |

Looks like SPACIOUS @ home maybe is trying to find out what went wrong when it was issuing massive credits last week. Apparently, no new task to be sent out or upload are allowed. I have several tasks waiting to report and not received any new tasks since 12 Jan 2026, 17:22:10 UTC. DPDN main site seems to be down again. cpdn.org works but both development and main.cpdn.org are down. |

Same here, but without prior warning or explanation this time. I'm just getting main.cpdn.org took too long to respond. |

In reply to Richard Haselgrove's message of 13 Jan 2026: Same here, but without prior warning or explanation this time. I'm just getting Safari is reporting a certificate error and site not private. |
