Web pages are down with this error;

"Forbidden
You don't have permission to access this resource.

Apache/2.4.58 (Ubuntu) Server at www.worldcommunitygrid.org Port 443"

But I still get new wus and can upload finished ones 😊

WCG is down. Both the site and BOINC.
Goodnight/morning, cruel world.

New update:

February 8, 2026
Another crash in the data center - this time - they hopefully identified the root cause.
As of Feb 9 - web site up again; Dylan restarted the feeder, all six partitions back to active downloads and uploads; logs look good otherwise; restarted a stalled validator - should be all green now

Yes, same here. There's probably many people asking for new work now. I guess it will take a while before everybody has been served.

Sorry for a question that has probably already been answered, but did WCG double the "runtime" calculations? I recently received the 10 year badge in MCM, but noticed I now have the 20 year badge, just a few weeks later. Runtimes on other WCG projects also appear to have doubled and well...so did my overall total. Are these runtimes more accurate now, or is there another data conflagration of some sort? Thanks... Ni!

Doubling is an error during catch-up processing, see below link.

Transient HTTP error for every attempt to upload finished tasks, since several hours now.
And no new task either for many hours, even well before reaching the limit for too many pending uploads.
And still, validations more or less dead too.
I'll finish the few tasks I have running, and then I shut down, and try to upload and report them another day.

Another update from the WCG team:

February 9, 2026
Another crash in the data center - and more problems on WCG side.

We are not yet sure if this is because Openstack at the data center has been running out of file descriptors for RabbitMQ or this is just the next "thought is was fixed" presentation of running out of file descriptors and we are headed for another crash

We may be back up with a massive improvement soon. However, if it is the file descriptor issue, it may turn into another outage instead. Either way, Dylan is trying to use the downtime to improve the file_upload_handler, which will be the last component we still need the old BOINC build for. So, we'll be fully caught up on that side of technical debt or at least that is the plan.

I see my 2 Android phones uploaded the completed tasks and was able to resume the stuck downloads from when everything stopped.

I just had 15 downloads. A significant number are _3 and _4; a few are _0 and _1. No _2, oddly enough in context (at least to me).

My percentage of validated tasks has gone up significantly. I now have far more valid than awaiting validation.

Hopefully WCG will start reporting to Free-DC and other aggregation sites soon. I am unable to find a link on WCG where this is raised…

The question has been raised several times on the forum, and they have answered it on the Operational Status page like this, on January 30:

BOINC db_dump for stats will resume once Phase 2 and Phase 3 backlog completes - we have not wanted to put out the stats, because we have not finished reconciling them from all the results that volunteers have uploaded, and we have not felt comfortable deleting results from the result table or result files from the caches or filesystems. We now know we can often credit retroactively, and once we are confident in our reconciliation of MCM1 backlog we will consider the pipeline and architecture stable, and resume db_dump stats dumps as before.
