@ Grumpy Swede:
I agree.
I had removed the WCG project.
Today, 9/19/2025, when I try to add WCG project, I get:
"Failed to add project
Please try again later.
Click finish to close."
And the Boincmanager Event log said:
"Fri 19 Sep 2025 12:52:13 PM EDT | | Fetching configuration file from
https://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/get_project_config.php"
and then nothing..

I think of a photo of an upright piano with an oak tree growing up through it..

The website and forum are now back up.

While I would love a restart to work unit flowing back and forth, I think that is a bit to ask for a Friday. I would love to see it come back Monday under supervision instead of right before a weekend.

Something is going on. Everything went Poof with......

Edit, added: And now:

System error

(With some luck, it is a restart of the system, to get BOINC back into play.)

a partially successful update:

At 11:00PM EDT Sep 19,2025, The WCG project responded to adding the WCG task.
but nothing was downloaded to
/var/lib/boinc-client/projects/www.worldcommunitygrid.org
but the sched_request_www.worldcommunitygrid.org.xml file was
downloaded to var/lib/boinc-client.

an update request failed.
Reported in boinc manager event log:

Well, for the first time since the migration, the master file was successfully downloaded.
But the HTTP service, is still unavailable.

And as of now, the website is again dead in the water, with various error messages, such as:

System error
World Community Grid is currently experiencing an unexpected error. Please check Facebook or Twitter for more information.

And:

503 Service Unavailable
No server is available to handle this request.

The status on the website keeps changing. The error messages are also changing. I'm guessing that some tech(s) are working on a Saturday.

I hope things go smoothly today and the techs can have their favorite snacks and beverages in celebration tonight.

Below from Dylan near midnight UTC.
Email should be working normally now, in moving the postfix/sendgrid relay to Ubuntu 24.04 there were additional parameters I needed in the /etc/postfix/main.cf file, until added the JavaMail threads would just wait forever (no timeout passed to Websphere JVM), eventually filling up the thread pool and crashing Websphere. Knock on wood, after that and a bunch of fixes to the database connection pools which were similarly crashing the website and forums, website should remain up and working. Working on BOINC now.

Paul.

Don't be so impatient - at 9:40 on a Monday morning they are probably still stuck in the queue at Tim Horton's for their Monday morning caffeine fix....

Another day has just about timed out with no BOINC access. Still no Discourse forums either - apparently it relies on the BOINC servers to work.

I'm sure that BOINC will be back any day/month/year now 😊. The deadlines are being extended, so no tasks will be lost.
My previous guess for Christmas Eve, may turn out to be true. But, who's in a hurry?

Lol Grumpy, you are probably right about that. You forgot to say what year or century that possibly will be in!

Just scanned through the WCG forums and the Jurisica status page with no new information.

It's 1:35 PM in the afternoon Toronto time and not surprising there's still NOTHING BUT CRICKETS FROM Krembil/Jurisica on what is/not happing with WCG.

Just browsed through the WCG forums and the Jurisica status page.... NOTHING POSTED BY THE 'WCG IT TEAM' SINCE LAST WEEK.

It's been nearly 4 weeks since it was taken down for "migration to a new environment." All we have is some worthless statements that they are still working on getting it 100% back up and running.

The continued silence from Krembil/Jurisica on WCG is ear shattering!
