Now almost 2 weeks since they took it down for migration... No update from the lab since Friday, Sept. 12.

It's more than 2-weeks since they took WCG down. I went down Aug 30, as noted here, by Rob:

Eastern Orthodox celebrate on Jan 7 so that gives them some more wiggle room to get everything up.

Yes, It's beginning to look like life as we know it.
I just noticed that in the last hours, the certificate for (CN) *.worldcommunitygrid.org, has been updated,
and is now valid from 2 september 2025 02:00:00 to 3 september 2026 01:59:59. The old certificate
was about to expire on 2025-09-18 01:59:59 CEST

So, something is happening at the WCG HQ.

WCG is finally back online. I haven't tried it out yet, or tried to upload and report my long ago finished tasks.

WCG migration is complete.
Sorry about much longer downtime than anticipated - but - we are finally back online - and Dylan was able to make some improvements as well.
We will share more details soon - but we also want to finish our start of the MAM project.

I'm sure that BOINC will have lots of problems when it comes back again. Thousands of users will upload, report, and try to get new work, and all of them at the same time :-)
I'll restart my BOINC and try soon. Patience will be needed the coming hours, I'm sure.

I was going to post here that it looks like the BOINC servers backend is still not completely working yet.

I tried to reconnect 2 Android devices that crashed/broke during upgrade to version 8.2.5. "failed to connect" is the response I see when trying to reattach. Oh well, will try tomorrow again.

Website online, but no Uploads/Downloads possible.
A few hundred WUs still "pending validation".

Well, the WCG forum didn't last very long.

mvnForum Fatal Error Message : Cannot init system. Reason : Assertion in ForumUserServlet.

Forum issues detected.
Sorry about these problems starting so soon after we came back - but - hopefully Dylan resolved them now.
It all related to an AutoMaint features of DB2. Likely, database went into one of the scheduled maintenance tasks, MVNForum tried to talk to the database, didn't work, MQ blocked MVNForum and the lack of perms on the queue showed up as this init check failure.

Forum on the main WCG site is up and running. But the Discourse forum is blocked with "503 Service Unavailable
No server is available to handle this request."

Now to see if I can reattach my 2 Android devices to the project.

Edit..... Doesn't look like the BOINC scheduler is running. All I get is "Scheduler request pending, Project initialization, Communication deferred xx.xx minutes."

THEY NEED TO DUMP THIS ANCIENT IBM CRAP AND JUST UPGRADE TO A CONVENTIONAL BOINC SERVER ENVIRONMENT. Probably would be easier to manage, less headaches with fixing things when it breaks or migrations in the the future.

I will be surprised if the BOINC part of WCG comes alive before some time next week.
I have hundreds of tasks ready to upload and report.

Today though, it's time to go shopping for shoes, socks, and AAA batteries.
