Old problem is back for everyone: "Another scheduler instance is running for this host" My TZ: UTC+1 22-Dec-2025 04:53:32 [World Community Grid] Sending scheduler request: To fetch work. 22-Dec-2025 04:53:32 [World Community Grid] Reporting 2 completed tasks 22-Dec-2025 04:53:32 [World Community Grid] Requesting new tasks for CPU 22-Dec-2025 04:53:36 [World Community Grid] Scheduler request completed: got 0 new tasks 22-Dec-2025 04:53:36 [World Community Grid] Another scheduler instance is running for this host 22-Dec-2025 04:53:36 [World Community Grid] Project requested delay of 121 seconds I have sent a message to the WCG team. Edit, added: And now, the entire WCG site went missing with: ERR_TIMED_OUT Edit, added 2: That was a short outage. It's all back again, and seems to work normally for everyone, according to messages sent on the WCG forum. |

At this moment, I have 12479 WUs in my Result List, thousands of them are "Pending Validation". It starts to begin ridiculous. |

All of a sudden, everything became very slow on the WCG site. The results page is just "spinning its wheels", not showing any results, and the forum is filled with cold molasses. Even some "503 Service Unavailable No server is available to handle this request." Also some "504 Gateway Time-out The server didn't respond in time." Batten the hatches........ Edit: And then, just as sudden, back to normal (for now). |

New update from Jurisica: December 24, 2025 Pushed changes to BOINC transitioner to fix bug with upload bucket calculation for resends last night. This should drastically increase validations from resends going forward. We have also rebuilt the combined validation and assimilation pipeline for MCM1 and MAM1, which will finally enable us to start going through the validation backlog and clearing it out. We will try to leave a period of roughly 1-2 weeks for results to remain visible in a validated state (undeleted from the result table) as we validate and purge PV jail, which means removing the files from the in-memory cache and the result records from the database. We expect the process to take about 3 weeks. Working to resolve reported issue with profile changes again not propagating from website to BOINC clients the issue has a different presentation this time, we are working to resolve the issue. MAM1 beta workunits, and soon small smoke tests of the production pipeline, are being released - last week, we began smoke testing the MAM1 beta project (beta30) again, and we are working on the Windows and GPU-enabled builds in preparation for beginning the production run, keeping in mind the application we are using to run MAM1 will be backported to MCM1 as well so that we can take advantage of the modern features of the PyTorch/LibTorch backend. Thank you to volunteers for reporting outcomes in the forums across multiple threads. In the new year as we begin daily beta testing of MAM1 to roll out the initial production runs for the project and add platforms and GPU compat, we will have a dedicated thread for reporting issues, outcomes, and asking questions about the beta30 application and results on the forums. Thank You for supporting open science through WCG. Happy Holidays and Happy New Year to all volunteers! |

My Pending Validation list is now shrinking from 2500 yesterday to 1968 this morning. of course Rosetta has started to allocate me WU's, so that might be a factor, but hopefully a fix has been rolled out to deal with the backlog from August

My tasks waiting for validation have also taken a big dip with no other projects running at the moment. |

I don't know if anyone has noticed it, but recently there is a change in how granted credit is calculated. Previously it was calculated differently. Now the highest claim is granted to both (all) wingmen. It used to be wingman 1's claim + wingman 2's claim divided by 2, gives the granted credit for both. One random example of how it used to be: https://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/contribution/workunit/786524538 And two random examples how it is now: https://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/contribution/workunit/797773089 https://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/contribution/workunit/797436383 So, now it really pays to be paired with a slow computer, as well as with a high claimer. Another example: with this one, I claimed 81.8, my wingman was slow, and a high claimer, 173.5. The result was that we both were awarded 173.5. https://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/contribution/workunit/797364754 |

Interesting change. However the validation queue is still quite substantial even when both initial parties have returned their results. |

In reply to robsmith's message of 27 Dec 2025: Interesting change.Yes, but the last 3 days, the validations has picked up substantially. I crunch around 70 task/day only, with my relatively old Laptop. (only computer I run for now). So the "Pending Validation" where both wingmen has finished the tasks, is now rapidly decreasing. My last 2 1/2 days: Statistics date Runtime Points earned Results returned 2025-12-27 0:015:03:31:11 105154 153 (after half the day) 2025-12-26 0:031:15:00:13 214976 321 2025-12-25 0:016:18:44:27 107870 170 |

According to Igor, Dylan logged in remotely and is working on the Credit issue, and he will rebuild, and push the change. Igor: "Definitely a bug but the impact is only that users got more than they expected for PV jailed workunits in some cases which is fairly benign, although not quite fair." |

Is it just me or are the stats for everyone not getting through to the Free DC recording site. I have ticked the sharing data box. According to Free DC WCG has no “Stats File†….presumably it’s up to WCG to set one up ? |

https://download.worldcommunitygrid.org/boinc/stats/ WCG is not exporting data for Stats sites like Free-DC. I'm done running WCD until data is exported. |

Stats will be made available again once the system has stabilized after changes. Paul. |

Just remember to abort all WCG tasks you have lurking on our computers those tasks will be distributed to others who will process them in a timely manner. |

This thread could be worth reading for Linux crunchers, so they're not surprised by the multi-threaded MAM tasks that seems to be sent out now. MAM Multicore does not work as expected Edit: Dylan is working on that issue now, as well as the reappearing problem with profile changes not propagating to the client and server. |

Thanks for your heads up. I was just getting ready to mention this happened to me, either Monday or Tuesday. I aborted the task. |
