I run BOINC on Chromecast with Google TV HD installed using F-Droid. F-Droid was installed (side loaded) using the app Downloader and Google TV is in developer mode. BOINC client is version 7.18.1 for arm-android-linux-gnu. I added World Community Grid using the Chromecast remote and it runs two instances of Mapping Cancer Markers 7.61. It was slightly difficult to maneuver the GUI on the TV since some buttons and list items doesn't change color when selected. I use the dark theme, but the problem was the same with the light theme. I checked "run as a stationary computer" and restarted Google TV. I added WUProp@Home remotely using BOINC Manager running on another computer. I also run BOINC on two old Android phones with Android 4 and 6. Google TV has Android TV 12. I monitor all my BOINC systems using BOINCTUI.

Benchmark results:
Number of CPUs: 2
1671 floating point MIPS (Whetstone) per CPU
3715 integer MIPS (Dhrystone) per CPU

Chromecast with Google TV (HD) is a dongle that doesn't cost much, and besides I only use 2 of 4 CPUs, and it is configured to shut off if the CPU temperature is above 38°C (100°F) or usage from other processes is more than 20%.

Chromecast with Google TV (HD) comes with its own power supply, and I use that.
