I am a bit confused about the relationship between a BOINC account and a userid/account for a project. I have run SETI for many years()over 20) and that project was stopped recently I believe. So I decided to dedicate a computer to run Rosetta. I got boinc manager goingo n UBUNTU 18.04 and then joined the Rosetta project and it has been running ok for awhile. I have a ROSETTA login. But I could not find my old BOINC login. So I just created one now to post this info. What is the relationship between a BOINC account and a project account? Can I find my old BOINC account by email address? I have BOINC manager running. Is the BOINC userid in there somewhere? sorry if this is not very clear. thanks in advance. Kriss |

No, it's clear. The BOINC account is an account for this site only, to be able to post on these forums. It's not used anywhere else in BOINC, not in the client, not in the manager, not in Github, not in the wiki's, not even for the BOINC Wide Teams page. And not in any of the projects, as those all need their own login, thus their own user ID/project account. If you never made an account for these forums, you never had a BOINC account. |

When you made the new account here, you increased you total account number to 3. First, you had a SETI@Home account. Then, you made a Rosetta@Home account Finally you made a BOINC account here. You have two project accounts (SETI and Rosetta), and one BOINC account. Each can only be used on the single project or website it was designed for. |
