Hi, For the life of me I can't figure how to access my online BOINC preferences to assign a change in my previously established BOINC preferences for research share. SETI no longer exists and I'm interested in directing more of my resources to COVID based research. I currently have 25% going to Rosetta and 100% going to World Community Grid. I need to change those percentages. Apparently I can't access that page from the manager. I signed into BAM from the manager hoping that would take me to my global settings but it only connected me to BAM and provided no options to change what I want. I'm surprised there's no direct way to do this from the manager. Another thing I would like to do is not use all 12 available threads, I would like to keep 2-4 free. Any help in getting me to the proper page to do this will be appreciated. Thanks CQ DX de KA1J |

Hi, You need to do that from the project’s own web site. In both Rosetta and WCG there is an option ladled project preferences and within that option you can set the resource share. |

Resource share is changed on your Account page at any of your projects. Preferences > Preferences for this project, top option. ************* Number of cores used is just above this: Preferences > When and how BOINC uses your computer. That's if you're using the web settings. If your computer is using local settings, then it's in your Manager's menu, Options > Computing preferences. edit Whoops - bit slow typing. :) |

While in most projects resource share is called exactly that, do know that for WCG it's called Project Weight. Bottom of this page. |

Hi, Thanks, I would have placed money on thinking there was one on-line location to set globally, all BOINC preferences, but I will go to those sites and change the information. I appreciate the help. CQ DX de KA1J |

The computing preferences are global. Use of hardware resources is set by project because not all of them support the same hardware, CPU, AMD GPU, Nvidia GPU, Intel GPU. And the one site you can set that all at is one you didn't want to use (and don't need to): an account manager such as BAM. |
