Hello. Im new here, joined after watching some youtube videos about this site. Im a gamer, i dont turn my PC at night so i decided to give it a try. So my problem is setting up the client the way i want. The program is not pausing the tasks while i play the game. My settings are like this: So my BOINC client is not pausing its job while i use PC. I also tried to check the box bellow, which should pause the program when CPU usage is high enough. Any ideas? Also im supporting Roseta@home if it make any difference. |

There's a couple of ways you can go. 1. In the Manager's menu, under Options > Computing preferences, you can set times for when BOINC is allowed to run. 2: In the cc_config.xml file, you can set an option to stop BOINC when you run a certain program. The one you want is: <exclusive_app>filename.exe</exclusive_app> BOINC will suspend computing whenever the executable is running (e.g., a game). Case is ignored in filenames. Multiple applications can be specified: place each <exclusive_app>filename.exe</exclusive_app> on a separate line. |

Option 2 is also available via the BOINC Manager advanced view, via the Options, Exclusive Applications menu. Also make sure Activity is set to Run based on preferences. When set to Run always, it'll ignore in use preferences. |
