Sruelf Send message Joined: 27 Mar 20 Posts: 2	Message 97118 - Posted: 27 Mar 2020, 13:40:03 UTC When I run BOINC Manager boinc.exe doesn't start and it will hang on "connecting to localhost" If I start boinc.exe from an elevated command prompt prior to starting BOINC Manager everything works fine. I'm running the Beta version 7.16.5 but I also had this issue on the "stable" version. ID: 97118 ·

As far as I can tell on every installation I have done since this was introduced, it has been ticked by default, including on a clean install of ubuntu 19.10 Not sure about on Windows installations as that would have been left in my .wine folder and ready to go once I had installed WINE on new system.
