Some projects e.g. DENIS, FIND or malariacontrol, start new tasks even when they're told not to do it. After removing a task or suspending and reactivating it, automatically there are new tasks created although they shouldn't be because of my manual choice. sometimes only stopping the whole project and then deleting some tasks helps to avoid an uncontrolable increase of the number of tasks. Is there a possibility to set a limit for the number of tasks per project, globally or project specific? What could be the advantage of running many tasks of a project at a time? |

If you set both the minimum and additional work buffers to zero, the client wont fetch new work until minutes before finishing a currently running task, one at the time. Otherwise there's no control. Buffering work is for when your internet connection is spotty or if your projects have an intermittent supply. If you have e.g. 5 or more active projects, there's no real need. If one does not have work, the client will try fetching work from another. Some office users set the scheduler to only connect during the night, so you'd like to buffer for the time the machine is off-line / during work hours. Just a few of many more reasons.
